This would mean a couple can expect to face a bill of up to £120,000 between them meaning most people would still have to sell their family home to pay this bill. Indeed, recent statistics from the Dilnot Commission indicate 1 in 10 of us (that’s 1 in 5 couples) will face a care bill in excess of £100,000.
